School uniform
Parents can purchase uniform items from our school uniform suppliers, who are Caseys Schoolwear, 246 Blackfen Road, Sidcup, DA15 8PW. You can also order online at:www.caseysschoolwear.co.ukYou can also purchase some of the uniform at many high street retailers.
We also have second hand / nearly new uniform which is sold by FOBA (our Parents Assocation) where you can purchase items of uniform that have been donated for £1 per item. You can find out more about this and FOBA under the 'Parents' tab.
Barrington is a school to be proud of and we reflect this in the appearance of all pupils.
Our school uniform is:
- Bottle green sweatshirt or cardigan with school logo
- White school shirt or polo shirt (with or without the school logo)
- Grey skirt or trousers or pinafore dress (in the summer short grey trousers or a green gingham dress may be worn).
- White, bottle green or grey socks/tights (socks should be either ankle or knee length only).
- Children should wear sensible plain black shoes, flat or with a 1” heel. Please no flip-flops, sandals, trainers, crocs, sling backs or similar styles.
Our uniform for P.E. is:
- Bottle green shorts
- Plain white T shirt
- Plain bottle green sweatshirt
- Plain bottle green tracksuit bottoms or full length bottle green, black or grey leggings
- Trainers or plimsols
All uniform needs to be labelled - including shoes and a water bottle for the classroom. A recommended site to buy durable name labels is: www.mynametags.comAll children require a waterproof coat in case of changeable weather. If boots are worn, your child should bring a change of footwear for use inside school.
Children must wear socks for PE (except gymnastics). If your child wears tights to school they need to have a spare pair of socks in their bag.
Long hair must be tied back for PE, so it is a good idea for your child to have a hair band/scrunchy. Children are not allowed to wear earrings in PE, so on a PE day make sure your child is not wearing earrings.
Reception class PE days are usually on a Tuesday and a Friday. On these days your child should come into school in their PE kit not their school uniform. If you can ensure they are not wearing any earrings and if they have long hair, it is tied back.
School meals
You can decide on a daily basis whether your child has a hot school dinner or a packed lunch. All children are currently entitled to a free school meal every day. Our catering company, Independent Catering have an excellent menu which changes every week so there is plenty of variety and we have an amazing salad bar every day.
Please click here to see typical a lunch menu .
Reception class children will always be first to go to the school hall to have their lunch, and they sit together regardless of whether they are eating a packed lunch or a hot dinner. They are closely monitored by our Midday Supervisors.
If your child has any dietary requirements, these can be catered for. You will see on our menus that each allergen is numbered and this is clearly marked up on each daily menu. If necessary we can meet with you and the catering company to agree a specific menu every day for your child.
